St. Louis, MO – Metrolink is warning riders to expect delays today (Monday). That especially goes for people headed to Lambert Airport.
A section of the Metrolink tracks between Wellston and Lambert closed Sunday after a train car carrying track rails tipped and knocked over three poles. Those poles carry wires that supply Metrolink's power.
Metro spokeswoman Adella Jones says one track is open between Wellston and Lambert Airport. But she says most people will probably need to take buses from those affected stations.
"Some people didn't see the news yesterday (Sunday) so they were kind of shocked when they got there and see 'Oh, I have to get on a bus' or 'What's going on,'" Jones said. "But we have we [Metro] have so many people on the ground to help customers through." The affected section includes stops at Wellston, St. Charles Rock Road, UMSL )(South and North stations), North Hanley, and both Lambert stops.
Jones says Metro hopes to have the second track open sometime Wednesday, but it will likely be Thursday before service is back to normal.
