Chicago – Jack Ryan is offering to give back campaign contributions after dropping out of the U.S. Senate race in Illinois last Friday.

He had raised $1.5 million since winning the Republican nomination in March.

Ryan will use personal funds, if needed, to pay back supporters.

Campaign manager Jason Miller said Tuesday that Ryan plans to tell donors about his decision next week.

Miller says the campaign expects about half of the donors to request refunds.

His campaign ended when allegations surfaced that he tried to make his then-wife have sex with him in public.

Ryan denies the accusations.
