Agency Finds Too Much Soot in St. Louis Air

By AP/ KWMU

St. Louis – The St. Louis area is one of many communities in the US that has too much invisible soot in its air.

The Environmental Protection Agency listed more than 200 counties that fail a new standard for microscopic particles.

Those particles lodge deep in the lungs and can cause asthma or heart attacks.

States have three years to tell the government how they'll meet the new regulations.
