St. Louis, MO – A Cole County judge has delayed a hearing on St. Louis County's challenge to Missouri's concealed weapons law.
The county's lawsuit says the fee for processing concealed gun permits is inadequate and asks that the new law be declared unconstitutional.
But circuit judge Thomas Brown is considering dismissal of the suit after Attorney General Jay Nixon's office said the issue is not yet ripe for a decision.
St. Louis County Counselor Pat Reddington says county police will not issue concealed weapons permits until Judge Brown rules, which could happened within the next few days.
