St. Charles, MO – A group of Lewis and Clark re-enactors left St. Charles Sunday for the west. The event ended a 10-day observance of the Lewis and Clark Bicentennial in the St. Louis area.
The re-enactors are with a group called the Discovery Expedition of St. Charles. They will spend the next several weeks traveling to towns along the Missouri River, with similar events planned for the Kansas City area over the Fourth of July.
Politicians gave speeches and fife-and-drum companies conducted parades as part of the celebration Sunday.
