East St. Louis, Ill. – A federal judge has ordered that St. Louis Blues player Mike Danton remain jailed pending his trial.
Danton is accused with 19-year-old Katie Wolfmeyer of suburban St. Louis of trying to arrange last month's foiled contract killing of his agent, David Frost.
After about four hours of arguments Friday in East St. Louis, U.S. District Judge Michael Reagan ruled Danton a possible flight risk and potential danger to society.
Reagan also ordered Danton to have no contact with Frost.
Danton's attorney had argued that the player needs mental-health treatment he can't get behind bars.
Both Danton and Wolfmeyer have pleaded not guilty.
