Matt Yaeter was cooking methamphetamine a few years ago when a toxic ingredient blew up in his face.
The explosion blinded the Pike County, Ill. resident and he was hospitalized for weeks.
As part of a prison sentence, Yeater now speaks to students about his experience. Illinois Public Radio's Shawn Johnson spoke with Yeater about the days after he lost his eyes...
Yeater could be released from prison in June, with good behavior. He says he then plans to move back to Pike County with his wife and son.
