St. Louis, MO – Boeing officials and union defense workers in St. Louis will start formal contract talks today (Monday).

The workers make everything from fighter jets to smart bombs. Their current contract expires May 23.

The International Associations of Machinists District 837 represents more than 2,800 St. Louis Boeing workers. They've already voted to authorize a strike if labor talks fail.

Key issues include job security, retiree benefits, and keeping health care affordable.
