Washington, DC – Missouri Republican Senator Kit Bond and his likely Democratic challenger, state Treasurer Nancy Farmer, are racheting up fund-raising efforts.
In the past three months, Bond has raised about $1 million. Farmer has pulled in about $608,000.
But the most important campaign fund-raising figures is the amount of cash candidates actually have in the bank.
Bond is far ahead of Farmer on that point, with nearly $5 million on hand, compared to Farmer's nearly $900,000.
Farmer and Bond provided summaries of their fund-raising to the Federal Election Commission covering the first quarter of 2004. The reports are due Thursday.
