North Metrolink Expansion Could Get Planning Money

St. Louis, MO – St. Louis Congressman Lacy Clay says a U.S. House Committee this week approved money to start planning Metrolink's extension to north St. Louis County.

The money was part of a $275 billion dollar highway budget bill that now heads to the full House.

The funds are not to build the extension, but rather just to get the ball rolling in planning for one.

The money is not certain, though. The U.S. Senate has already passed a much larger version of the highway bill. Once the House passes its version, the two chambers will have to work out differences.

Crews are currently building a Metrolink extension from the Forest Park station, west to I-170 in Clayton, then south to Shrewsbury.
