Mizzou Names Arena for Donor's Daughter

By AP/KWMU

Columbia, Mo. – Paige Sports Arena will be the new name of the University of Missouri's new, $75 million basketball facility.

The name was announced Friday in Columbia.

Paige is the 22-year-old daughter of Columbia businessman Bill Laurie and his wife, Nancy. She has never been a Mizzou student.

The Lauries donated $25 million toward the basketball arena project.

Bill Laurie also owns the St. Louis Blues.

In an earlier announcement, the Tigers said the arena's court will be named for long-time Mizzou Coach Norm Stewart.
