Des Moines, Iowa – Missouri Congressman Dick Gephardt made a final push Sunday night in Des Moines in advance of Monday's Iowa caucuses.
Rock and Roll legend Chuck Berry kicked off a late-hour campaign rally for Gephardt last night. Gephardt stood in front of a crowd of 500 mainly union supporters and tried to set himself apart from other candidates.
And I believe with all my heart that we need a president in the White House who's shared that struggle with the people of this country and knows what it is and how to fix it, Gephardt said.
Political scientists say Gephardt needs a win in Iowa's first in the nation caucuses. Without a first-place finish, analysts say it'll be hard for him to compete for the democratic nomination outside of his home turf in the Midwest.
