Kansas City – A jury in Kansas City says Ohio airplane parts-maker Parker Hannifin was negligent in the October, 2000 light-plane crash that killed Missouri Governor Mel Carnahan.
His family would get $4 million under the award, announced late Friday afternoon in Jackson County Circuit Court.
The jury decided on a $3 million award in Mel Carnahan's death, and a $1 million award for his son Randy, who was the pilot.
The trial began weeks ago, and several dozen witnesses testified.
