Mascoutah, IL – Gov. Blagojevich's office says it will approve Mid-America Airport's request for a $400,000 state grant.
St. Clair County wants the grant to make infrastructure improvements to the airport.
Airport director Tim Cantwell says many parts of the airport were not finished when it was built seven years ago. Other parts have aged and need to be replaced. He cites office space, elevators, escalators and computers that
control the airport's heat and air conditioning as things that either need finished or upgraded.
The airport only has one commercial carrier, Great Plains.
