Columbia, Mo. – Missouri Economic Development Director Joe Driskill is stepping down from his position.
Driskill announced Wednesday that he will leave the Department of Economic Development January 1 after ten years in the position. He says it is time for a career shift.
"It was no particular event that precipitated my interest," Driskill said. "This position has been very good for me for the last ten years and I think we've had a very successful effort at our department."
Driskill is leaving the department to head up Missouri Technology Corporation, a non-profit corporation promoting "tech" jobs in Missouri.
Driskill says his successor has been found and Governor Bob Holden will announce the person's name soon.
