St. Louis, MO – A Moline Acres police officer who was found passed out behind the wheel of a police car, has been charged with driving under the influence.
Lt. Carlie Carson was charged Wednesday. A Normandy officer spotted him in an unmarked police car near I-70 last Friday morning. Police say Carson, of Ferguson, was unconscious, two of the car's tires were blown out with the rims bent, and the engine was still running.
Authorities say they found a six-pack of beer with two bottles remaining unopened in Carson's police car. Normandy's police chief also says Carson smelled of alcohol.
Carson is on administrative leave pending a hearing.
