St. Louis, Mo. – The leader of a national veterans organization says the daily loss of lives among US troops in Iraq makes it difficult for his group to celebrate Veterans' Day this year.
David Cline is president of the St. Louis-based "Veterans For Peace". He says there is no justification for the pain that's being caused by the continued occupation of Iraq.
"I see it as such a waste, you know, and that's the reason why I and a lot of other veterans are trying to work for a change in the direction of this country because those are our children, a lot of times those are our children," Cline said.
Cline's group and other veterans' organizations will rally Tuesday against the occupation of Iraq and cutbacks in Veteran's Administration health care programs.
