St. Louis, MO – The industry-wide campaign sponsored by the Associated General Contractors of St. Louis includes a toll-free crime reporting hotline, counseling for those who commit jobsite crimes and an amnesty program to encourage the return of stolen tools.
Frank Kazenske, chairman of the Construction Crime Prevention Consortium, says on average, local firms lose about $ 15 million worth of tools each year:
"Not only is it $15 million in lost tools, I think you could probably double that in manhours," said Kazenske. "We want to put that money back into the hands of the owners, because it creates more work for these people."
The toll-free number to report a jobsite crime is 1-877-CRIME-99.
