Elderly Couple Doing 'Relatively Well' After Ordeal

By AP/KWMU

Sullivan, MO – The family of an elderly couple who went missing for three nights says the two are doing remarkably well, considering their ordeal.

Max and Madeline Alexander of Sullivan (about 60 miles southwest of St. Louis) went for a drive Wednesday but got lost.

After their car got stuck, they both then fell when trying to go get help. Max is nearly blind; Madeline has symptoms of Alzheimer's disease. A relative found them this weekend.

The couple's son says the two won't be driving anymore.
