St. Louis, Mo. – The St. Louis Cardinals have hired business
consultants to maximize minority participation in construction of a new ballpark.

The Cardinals still plan to break ground on their new ballpark sometime in September or October.

The club met with consultants yesterday, the same day an ad ran in the St. Louis Post-Dispatch advertising a contractor outreach meeting.

Hunt Construction will build the new ballpark. They are seeking bids for, among other things, mechanical, plumbing and electrical.

The Cardinals continue to search for equity partners in the $330 million project, but insist they plan to break ground shortly after the season ends.
