St. Louis, Mo. – Eight people have been reported killed on
Missouri roads and highways so far this Memorial Day holiday weekend.
The latest victim, early today, was identified as 50-year-old Shelley Sherman, from the Oklahoma City suburb of Del City. The Highway Patrol says Sherman's mini-van crossed the Interstate 44 median near Waynesville hit a guardrail and an embankment, then overturned.
Pulaski County officials say Sherman was dead at the scene. The driver's 27-year-old son, Steven, was injured.
One person was killed Sunday and five Saturday. The patrol says three members of a Franklin Park, Illinois, family died Saturday evening in a one-car accident on Interstate 55, in southeast Missouri.
