St. Louis, Mo. – Hollywood is coming to St. Louis to tell one of the Hill's favorite tales.
The story of the 1950 American soccer team (including 5 St. Louis players) that upset the powerhouse English team in a World Cup match is local legend.
The same Director who filmed Hoosiers and Rudy, David Anspaugh, will direct this movie called The Game of their Lives.
Casting Director Carrie Houk says St. Louisans will have a chance to be in the movie.
I'm counting on the city being very enthusiastic in coming out to our extras casting call May 31st which we're doing right here on the Hill at the Shaw school from 9am to 4," Houk said. "I want all ages, all types and lots of people. We have about 2,000 parts to cast.
Filming is scheduled to begin in about 4 weeks.
St. Louis area locations include St. Ambrose church, Marconi Avenue, Marquette Park, the Missouri Athletic Club and the Casa Loma Ballroom.
