St. Louis, MO – Speaking to more than 2,500 members of the Washington University Class of 2003, Albright said though the strength of the United States is not in doubt, how the nation intends to use its power is. Albright said she hopes President Bush will use next month's G-8 summit in France as an opportunity to put to rest suspicions about U.S. intentions in Iraq. Albright said she hoped the president "will be frank in stating American positions, but also clear in recognizing that others have their own views, and that nothing is more natural than disagreement and debate among leaders of free societies."
After her remarks, Albright received an honorary doctor of humanities degree from Washington University.
