Jefferson City, MO – The state Senate today passed legislation
that could allow most Missourians to carry concealed guns.
But Governor Holden threatens a veto.
Senators invoked a rare procedural move to cut off a lengthy debate and immediately vote on the bill. It's the first time in
four years that senators have tried such a move.
The bill would allow concealed gun permits for people age 23 and older. They'd have to undergo training and have no criminal
background.
Voters narrowly rejected a proposal allowing concealed guns in April of 1999. The latest proposal would not go on the ballot.
