St. Louis, MO – After last week's revelations of controversial executive bonuses at American Airlines, the flight attendants' union will decide Tuesday whether to vote for a third time on job and wage concessions.
Former TWA and current American flight attendant Sherry Cooper says the airline and union are ignoring the needs of St. Louis-based flight attendants.
"You had a no vote," Cooper said. "Then the union extends the voting period to get to a yes vote. They get the yes vote; the pensions are announced. Now they want a no vote."
Other St. Louis-based flight attendants would not talk on tape, citing fears of immediate firing. An American spokeswoman says she knows of no such threat.
