Maryville, Mo. – The board that runs Northwest Missouri State in Maryville Sunday endorsed efforts to merge the campus into the University of Missouri system.
The Board of Regents authorized the school's president to negotiate terms; a move that was not a formal endorsement of any specific plan.
UM President Elson Floyd was in Maryville to support the plan and will further discuss it at the UM-St. Louis campus Monday.
One lawmaker who represents Northwest says the school is moving too fast without answering important questions about merger plans.
