Fulton, Mo. – A team from the U-S Nuclear Regulatory Commission will meet with Ameren UE officials next month to talk about the results of last year's safety assessment of the Callaway Nuclear Plant near Fulton.
In its annual reviews, the NRC studies several performance areas, from radiation safety to emergency preparedness.
NRC spokesman Victor Dricks says the plant did experience some minor safety incidents that did not pose any danger to the public
"There were a number of incidents, none of which were really safety significant," Dricks said. "But they collectively raised some questions in our eyes about their ability to identify problems promptly and fix them properly, and so we're going to be keeping a close eye on that."
The meeting will be held April 1 in Jefferson City, and is open to the public.
