St. Louis, MO – Tuesday Mayor Francis Slay and leaders from St. Louis area hospitals announced an agreement they say will prepare the region for a major civil emergency.
Thirty-five hospitals are taking part in the Metropolitan Medical Response System a mutual aid agreement to share hospital resources.
Mayor Slay says regional cooperation is critical in the event of a natural disaster or terrorist attack.
The agreement includes new communications and patient tracking technology, and includes hospitals in the city, plus 10 counties in Missouri and Illinois.
