St. Louis, MO – While talk of war with Iraq continues, one company that makes military equipment says it's not counting on war for better business.

St. Louis-based ESSI makes support items like heaters, air conditioners and radar for the military. Missouri Senator Jim Talent toured the facility and spoke with workers earlier today.

Company president Jerry Potthoff says they're not necessarily hoping for war because they know they'll have work to do regardless.

Certainly a war with Iraq would inevitably help in terms of more orders. But the way we see ourselves is with our without war we've got to insure our troops have the best product they can get to sustain themselves in their deployments.

ESSI employs about 700 people in the St. Louis area.
