St. Louis, MO – Employees and customers of Tippin's Restaurants, known for their home-baked pies, learned today that the company has permanently closed its four suburban St. Louis eateries. The company blames declining restaurant sales and a sputtering St. Louis economy for the action. More than 120 workers are affected. Based in the Kansas City suburb of Overland Park, Kansas, Tippin's says in a statement that it has also closed two restaurants in the Kansas City area....but will continue operating its other outlets in Kansas City, Texas and Oklahoma. The restaurants that have closed are in the St. Louis suburbs of Town and Country, Creve Coeur, Crestwood and Shrewsbury.
