Chicago, IL – Outgoing Southern Illinois Congressman David Phelps hopes the new Governor has a job for him. The Democrat lost his bid to stay in Congress in last month's election to Collinsville Republican John Shimkus. But Rod Blagojevich's election as Governor could mean a state appointment for Phelps, who says he's been talking to the incoming Governor's transition team since the election.
Blagojevich and Phelps have served together in both the Illinois House and in Congress.
