Columbia, MO – Retiring University of Missouri President Manuel Pacheco may be considered to be the new president of the University of New Mexico, even though Pacheco says he's not interested.
The Columbia Daily-Tribune reports a group looking for Hispanics to apply for the job plans to submit Pacheco's name to the New Mexico search committee. But Pacheco said in an e-mail to the newspaper he's not interested.
Pacheco applied for the New Mexico President's job in 19-89; but recently bought a house in Arizona, where he says he plans to move after retiring from the University of Missouri at the end of this year.
