In October, British geneticist Sir John Sulston was awarded the Nobel Prize for his discovery of a process that causes cells to self-destruct. In England, Sulston led a team who, in partnership with Washington University in St. Louis, created the first rough map of the human genome. While in St. Louis Nov. 12, Sulston told KWMU's Kevin Lavery how he discovered cell suicide by studying a tiny worm.
