Auditor's race likely to pass without ads

Jefferson City, MO – The state auditor's race appears to be a
rarity this year. In an era of massive media campaigns, the auditor's race seems likely to pass with no ads by its candidates.

Democratic incumbent Claire McCaskill is the only of the four candidates to have raised enough money to buy ads.

But she has yet to do so -- according to a campaign finance report filed today with the state Ethics Commission. And Campaign
Manager Matt Teter says it's unlikely McCaskill will buy any ads.

Republican Al Hanson, Libertarian Arnold Trembley and Green Party candidate Fred Kennell all have filed exemptions to campaign finance reporting. That means they have spent less than 500 dollars
in their campaigns.
