  • STLPR seeks an education reporter who can explain arcane policy problems in engaging ways, who loves to connect issues to the people impacted the most and who can distinguish between public policy lip service and authentic attempts to change things.
  • STLPR seeks a Digital Editor to set the vision for the organization’s digital news presence and seek new, creative ways to tell informative, impactful stories online.
  • STLPR seeks an experienced, driven fundraising professional to identify, cultivate, solicit and steward major and planned gift prospects and donors.

All St. Louis Public Radio internships pay an hourly wage of $15, along with the opportunity for college credit depending on the requirements of interns’ respective degree programs. Each internship averages a time commitment of 25 hours per week.

Development (Fundraising) Intern

The intern will assist in a variety of development and fundraising-related tasks including donor communication, donor stewardship and administrative tasks as well as data collection and processing.

Marketing & Communications Intern

The intern will assist with digital marketing, including email and social media, as well as ad targeting and paid search.

Newsroom (Journalism) Intern

The intern will learn valuable broadcast and recording skills, attend press conferences, upload news stories, conduct interviews, and may be asked to assist anchors in producing newscasts.

Newsroom Visuals (Journalism) Intern

The visuals intern will apply and develop storytelling skills through impactful still photographs of breaking news, enterprise reporting, and other journalistic content across STLPR’s digital platforms.

Special Events Intern

The student will assist in the preparation of St. Louis Public Radio events including planning, set-up, execution, and breakdown.

Talk Show Production (St. Louis on the Air) Intern

The intern will assist in content and audio production for St. Louis Public Radio’s daily talk show, St. Louis on the Air.

Visual Communications (Graphic Design) Intern

The intern will assist marketing & digital media staff in creating graphics and images for digital and print distribution as assigned.
