St. Louis – A suburban St. Louis police officer has died, more than a week after suffering a heart attack and crashing his patrol car.

Maplewood Sgt. George Ross died this morning at a hospital. He was 62.

On March 31, Ross was among hundreds of officers who attended the funeral Mass for St. Louis officer David Haynes, who died in a crash while pursuing a burglary suspect.
