By AP/St. Louis Public Radio

St. Louis – St. Louis police say an off-duty officer and her boyfriend were wounded and another woman died during a robbery.

Investigators say the 27-year-old female officer was shot and is in critical condition after the early Monday shooting. Her boyfriend also was shot in the neck and is listed in serious condition.

Police say the officer and her boyfriend were walking to her car just south of downtown St. Louis around 1 a.m. when the couple encountered two armed men. They were forced back into the home, where six other people were inside.

Police say the officer was shot at least three times and her boyfriend was also shot. A 34-year-old woman in the house was shot and died later at a hospital.

Police say two suspects have been taken into custody. No names have been released.
