St. Louis – A St. Louis County man faces federal charges for allegedly trying to kidnap a 16-year-old girl from a bus stop Tuesday and leading police on a chase.
Prosecutors have charged Angelo Walker, 39, of Bel-Ridge with attempted kidnapping, resisting arrest, assault on a law enforcement officer and armed criminal action.
Police say that around 6 a.m. Tuesday Walker tried to force the teen into his SUV. A Florissant police officer saw what was happening and approached Walker.
A lengthy chase began. Police used stop sticks to deflate the tires of the SUV, which kept going on the rims.
The SUV pulled over in Jennings. Walker allegedly put the SUV in reverse and rammed the front of a police car before crashing.
