Chicago – A defense attorney says the top aide who was by Rod Blagojevich's side in the final days before the former governor's arrest is set to plead guilty.
Former chief of staff John Harris had pleaded not guilty to a charge that accuses him of plotting to squeeze potential campaign contributors for money.
Harris is due to appear Wednesday afternoon before federal Judge James Zagel, and defense attorney Terry Ekl said Harris will likely change his plea.
Ekl said the former chief-of-staff has been cooperating with prosecutors, and could even testify against Blagojevich at trial.
