Springfield, Ill. – Gov. Pat Quinn said every state agency, office and even the General Assembly will be hit with budget cuts.
Quinn said he will act on a list of cuts today as he moves to take out an additional $1 billion from the state budget.
The Democrat warned that everyone will share in the "sacrifice," which will include layoffs and furlough days. He called furloughs a "good idea" for lawmakers and their legislative staffs.
Quinn has taken his case to fix the budget to rank-and-file lawmakers. He's looking for support to break a deadlock that has left the government without a spending plan.
