St. Louis – In the face of tight budgets and two insurgent wars, the Pentagon is rethinking military strategy. Defense Secretary Robert Gates is scheduled today to announce what he calls a "fundamental shift in priorities," which means reducing or eliminating some of the nation's most advanced, and expensive weapons programs, including fighter jets.
