Jefferson City, Mo. – A prosecutor in Jefferson City has rested his case in the trial of a former St. Louis-area lawmaker accused of sexually assaulting a 14-year-old girl.
The defense for Scott Muschany called no witnesses. The Republican from Frontenac faces a felony charge of deviate sexual assault and a misdemeanor of exposing his genitals to a minor.
On Thursday, the alleged victim testified she woke up in the middle of the night early last year to find Muschany forcing her to touch him.
Muschany's lawyer called the accusation "absurd." Closing arguments are scheduled to begin Friday morning.
