Fort Leonard Wood, MO – A second soldier stationed at Fort Leonard Wood has died of meningitis.
Twenty-eight year old Randy Stabnick of South Bend, IN died Tuesday at a hospital in Springfield, Mo. He was a private in initial entry training at the base.
The first soldier died last Monday - his name has not been released.
Fort Leonard Wood officials say both soldiers died of a non-contagious form of meningitis. The federal Centers for Disease Control and Prevention is sending a team to the base to investigate.
