Starbucks thief pleads guilty in death

By Associated Press

St. Louis, MO – A Georgia man pleads guilty in a case of a stolen tip jar and the death of a Good Samaritan who tried to intervene.

Aaron Poisson, of Cumming, Georgia, pleaded guilty today to involuntary manslaughter, stealing and leaving the scene of an accident. Poisson was accused of taking a tip jar from the counter of a Starbuck's store March 3 in suburban St. Louis. Investigators said Roger Kreutz, 54, of Creve Coeur, tried to stop Poisson and ended up getting hit by a vehicle Poisson was driving as he fled.

Kruetz was the co-owner of the Holiday Inn and Viking Conference Center in Sunset Hills.
