Jefferson City, Mo. – Re-counts in three narrowly decided races for the Missouri Legislature tightened victory margins but confirmed the initial results.
The secretary of state's office certified the re-count results Monday.
The losing candidates who requested the re-counts gained a combined 14 votes. But the differences were not enough to change the outcomes.
In the St. Louis area, Republican House member Vicki Schneider, of O'Fallon, gained one vote but lost by 73 votes to Democratic challenger Kenny Biermann.
In the state Senate, Democrat Joan Barry picked up an extra six votes but still lost by 70 votes to Republican Jim Lembke for an open seat.
Democrat Jim Jackson lost by 122 votes to Republican Denny Hoskins for an open Warrensburg-area seat.
