St. Louis – A man is dead after a shooting in downtown St. Louis. Meanwhile, a potential suspect in that case is in stable condition after being shot by police. That man turned out to be unarmed.
It began Monday evening when a man was shot and killed near the Edward Jones Dome. His name was not released.
Witnesses provided a description of the suspect, and not long after the shooting officers saw a man matching that description.
The man was ordered to stop and told to remove his hands from his pockets. Police say he put a hand inside his coat. An officer, fearing for his safety, shot the man in the leg and shoulder.
Police are uncertain if that man was involved in the first shooting. The officer who shot him is on administrative leave pending the investigation.
