St. Louis, MO – Lindbergh Boulevard will be closed tomorrow underneath Lambert Airport in St. Louis so that an emergency drill can be held.
Two mock plane crashes will take place on the new runway at the same time that a multi-car accident is staged in the Lindbergh Tunnel. Lambert spokesman Jeff Lea says it's a useful exercise.
"Essentially what we're trying to do is work on our emergency preparedness, not only within our own departments but within some of our mutual aid responders that surround the airport in case there ever is an incident on or near the airport."
Lea says the drills are required by the Federal Aviation Administration to be held every three years.
