St. Louis – Barack Obama and John McCain won their respective primaries by one percent margins in Missouri on Super Tuesday.
Obama beat Hillary Clinton 49 to 48 percent among Democrats.
The Associated Press initially declared Clinton the winner but backtracked after votes from Columbia and Kansas City came in.
Among Missouri Republicans, McCain beat Mike Huckabee 33 to 32 percent. Mitt Romney got 29 percent of the GOP vote.
In Illinois, Barack Obama carried 64 percent of the Democratic vote.
On the GOP side, John McCain won with 47 percent of Republican votes.
Mitt Romney finished second in Illinois, and Mike Huckabee came in third.
