Jefferson City, MO – Missouri State Auditor Susan Montee says she'll review Attorney General Jay Nixon's use of a state vehicle and staff during campaign trips.
However, she will not conduct an official audit into Nixon, who's running for governor next year.
Montee says Nixon requested the review, which will examine documents used in calculating a reimbursement check given to the State Office of Administration.
But Office of Administration Commissioner Michael Keathley is requesting an official audit.
"We've asked that (Montee) would respond by the eleventh and tell us what her intent may be," Keathley said.
Keathley wants more documentation on the $47,000 reimbursement provided by Nixon's campaign office.
He says his deadline of December 7th still stands for Nixon to provide more details or face a subpoena.
"(The Attorney General's) office was last audited by State Auditor Claire McCaskell for the time period July 2003 to June of 2006...and at that time part of the audit was over vehicle use," Keathley said.
