St. Louis – An annual report released Tuesday by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention shows St. Louis ranks highest in the nation for chlamydia and gonorrhea infection rates.
Nearly 7,500 cases of the two diseases were reported in 2006.
City health officials convened a special task force meeting Tuesday after the word came out.
Nationally, the number of diagnosed cases of chlamydia topped one million last year, the highest ever.
